How To Make Date Roll

This date roll is a very easy 5-ingredients recipe and you can make it less than in 20 minutes. Let’s start with the dates themselves.

Date Roll
  1. Wash dates and dry them with a kitchen towel. Remove pits and crush them into a food processor. Mix until you will get the texture of the date paste.
  2. Grind nuts in the food processor separately and mix them with date paste, until well combined. You can add spices of your choice like ground cinnamon or cardamon. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Roast sesame seeds first. Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Add some sesame seeds to a dry pan and roast for about 7 minutes until they pop and become fragrant. Stir all the time. Allow to cool down.
  4. Now it is time to shape! Grease your hands with a bit of sunflower oil, so date paste won’t stick on your hands during shaping. Divide date paste into 2 parts and shape each part into a long roll, around 5-7 cm in diameter. Coat each roll with sesame seeds. Then place a wooden spoon just right on top of the roll, press gently to create a hollow in the center.
  5. Fill your piping bags with melted white and dark chocolate. Firstly, fill the rolls with white chocolate and then decorate them with dark chocolate.

Nuts Allergy Suggestions

Anyone who is allergic to peanuts can use any other nuts like almonds, walnuts, cashews or hazelnuts. However, if you are allergic to all nuts, you can be substitute peanuts with biscuits, crisp rice cereal, oat flour, chocolate chips or sunflowers seeds. Dates can be also combined with raisins, dried cranberries, apricots, papaya and any other dried fruits.
