Peanut Baklava Choco Sticks

Baklava Choco Sticks

If you liked my Ferrero Baklava last time, these peanut-filled Baklava Choco Sticks are so good and even better! A combination of crispy filo pastry, nuts, and chocolate is pure bliss. These little treats have a perfect balance of sweet and salty and are way healthier than other classic baklava recipes.

PREPARATIONS

Making these Baklava Choco Sticks is way easier than you may think. I will provide you with easy-to-follow instructions in the following steps. But before we get started, let's make our shopping list first!

For Baklava Choco Sticks you will need the following:

  • 1/2 pack baklava filo pastry around 10 sheets
  • 1 whole milk chocolate bar
  • 200 g peanuts salted/unsalted
  • 1/3 butter stick around 80g melted unsalted butter (preferable clarified ghee)
  • 2 spoons of honey

In addition, the whole recipe is low in cost, so with the remaining filo pastry, you can also make some savory lunch side dishes, like Turkish Spinach and Feta Borek or Baked Feta Cheese in Filo! Who doesn't like recipes with only a few ingredients?

INSTRUCTIONS

When making recipes with filo, always remember to cover the pastry with a wet cloth to prevent it from drying out. First, blend whole peanuts in a food processor and melt butter in a microwave oven. And you can move to assembling baklava.

Take one baklava sheet and fold it in half. Place the sheet on your working surface and spread blended peanuts on the edge all the way through. Fold and wrap peanut filling into a roll, while rolling brush once with butter, and once again when you roll up completely.

Place all sticks on baking sheets and make sure you brush well with butter. Bake at 160 C for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Once done drizzle hot baklava sticks with honey and dip corners into melted chocolate.

Place chocolate-covered baklava sticks on a baking rack one by one, to let chocolate drip down. Decorate baklava sticks with remaining ground peanuts and place them into the fridge or freezer for a couple of minutes.
