Kunafa French toast is a cultural twist of both recipes when you can enjoy flavors of Middle Eastern Kunafa and classic French toast breakfast all in one! It's so good, that you can make it for someone and make an extraordinary breakfast. The crispy Kunafa on the top, stuffed toast with Kunafa cheese in the center, and served with flavored baklava syrup take ordinary French toast not just to the next level, but 100 level ups!

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 tsp cinnamon
  • 20 mg milk
  • 1/2 tsp rose water
  • 50 g Kataifi pastry
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 4 toast slices
  • 100 g mozarella cheese
  • 30 g pistachios (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
Instructions
  1. In medium bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon powder and rose water. Whisk until everything well combined. Set aside.

  2. Spread cream cheese on one slice first, then add some mozzarella cheese. Top with another toast and press tightly.

  3. Take out your Kunafa pastry, and break it into smaller parts. Place pastry on flat plate to get everything ready.

  4. Carefully dip stuffed toast in the French toast butter, let any excess drip off. Toss French toast into Kunafa and coat from each side genesourly. 

  5. Melt butter on pan and cook toast for 3 minutes each side.

  6. Serve with pistachios and maple syrup.
