Blueberry Tiramisu

RECIPE INGREDIENTS

For the Tiramisu Cream:

  • 200 ml fresh double cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 400 g cream cheese (room temperature)

For the Blueberry Sauce:

  • 100 g blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

For Assembly:

  • 300 g lady biscuits (savoiardi)
  • 200-300 g fresh blueberries (for decoration)
  • Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

TIRAMISU CREAM

Start by whipping double cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. In a separate bowl, gently mix cream cheese until smooth. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese using a spatula until well combined and light in texture. This creates a silky, rich cream that will be the heart of your tiramisu.

BLUEBERRY SAUCE

In a small saucepan, cook blueberries with brown sugar over medium heat until they release their juices. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into the blueberries. Mash the blueberries lightly with a fork to create a slightly chunky texture. Let the sauce simmer until it thickens into a pudding-like consistency — not too runny, not too sticky. Then set aside and allow to cool completely.

Shortcut tip: You can also use store-bought blueberry jam if you’re short on time!

ASSEMBLY AND SERVE

First prepare a 20×30 cm Pyrex glass dish or any similar size dish. Fill a piping bag with the tiramisu cream to make layering easier.

Begin with a layer of lady biscuits. If you prefer a traditional flavor, dip them quickly in coffee, but to keep the dessert kids-friendly, leave them dry.

  1. Pipe or spread half of the tiramisu cream on top of the biscuits. Flatten the surface with a spatula.
  2. Add a layer of cooled blueberry sauce.
  3. Repeat with another layer of lady biscuits, tiramisu cream, and blueberry sauce until all ingredients are used.
  4. Finish with a final layer of cream and smooth the surface.

Decorate with fresh blueberries and mint leaves as shown in the picture.

SERVING & STORAGE

Refrigerate the tiramisu overnight to allow all the flavors to blend together and the biscuits to soften. This dessert tastes best after at least 12 hours of chilling. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days – making it a perfect make-ahead dessert for Ramadan nights

Frequently Asked Questions

Expand All:
Can I make Blueberry Tiramisu without coffee?

Yes! This recipe is already coffee-free, making it perfect for children and those who prefer a lighter dessert. However, if you'd like a more traditional tiramisu flavor, you can dip the biscuits in cooled coffee before layering.

Can I use frozen blueberries instead of fresh ones?

Absolutely! Frozen blueberries work perfectly for the blueberry sauce. Just cook them directly from frozen — no need to thaw.

How long does tiramisu need to set in the fridge?

For the best texture and flavor, let the tiramisu chill for at least 12 hours or overnight. This helps the biscuits soften and all the flavors combine beautifully.

Can I make this tiramisu gluten-free?

Yes! Simply swap the lady biscuits for gluten-free sponge fingers or gluten-free biscuits.
